Mainstay Filing

Our rating: 4.9 out of 5

$149 a year, every year

  • There is no add-on menu: no EIN add-on, no operating-agreement upcharge, no rush tier and no compliance plan
  • State fees are passed through at cost and shown before you pay
  • The first three government mailings a year are scanned free; after that a per-piece fee applies

The questions people ask

Is the $125/year a teaser rate or does it increase?

Northwest’s registered agent page, read October 20, 2026, shows $125 a year and says the price has not gone up in 20 years. It is not a teaser by its own page, though it adds $100 a year per state for five or more states.

Is $149 a teaser rate?

No, for Mainstay Filing. A registered agent alone, for a company that is already formed, is $149 a year. That plan does not include the annual report. It renews at $199 a year, with no rate that jumps at renewal and no new line items.

Is a $39 LLC package a teaser?

The package price is real, but it is not the registered agent price. $39 plus the state fee, with its registered agent service included the first year, then $125 a year; annual report filing is an extra $100 plus the state fee. See advertised against checkout price.

Which registered agent prices are teasers?

4 of the 19 providers priced here show a higher price after year one: ZenBusiness ($99 then $199), Harbor Compliance ($99 then $159), FreeRegisteredAgent.com ($0 then $129) and Launch Registered Agent ($34.99 then $48.99).

What should a flat fee include?

At least the legal address, service of process forwarded promptly and a way to see it. See what is in a flat fee for what each page lists.
