Flat Fee Registered Agent › Advertised vs checkout
Why the advertised price is not the checkout price
Formation sites advertise a package price. The registered agent is a separate line, and the state fee is another. Mainstay Filing shows $199 a year for formation, the registered agent, the EIN application and the annual report, and passes state fees through at cost, shown before you pay.
- Northwest Registered Agent $39 plus the state fee, with its registered agent service included the first year, then $125 a year; annual report filing is an extra $100 plus the state fee. Read October 20, 2026.
- ZenBusiness Starter package $0 plus the state fee; Pro is $199 a year with the EIN and annual-report filing, and its registered agent is a separate $199 a year that no package includes. Read October 20, 2026.
- Bizee Basic package $0 plus the state fee (Standard $199, Premium $299), with one free year of its registered agent, which is $149 a year after that. Read October 20, 2026.
- LegalZoom Basic package $0 plus the state fee (Pro $249, Premium $299); its registered agent is $249 a year for first-time agent customers. Read October 20, 2026.
A worked example, year one and year two
Formation plus a registered agent for two years, packages as each page lists them, before state fees: Mainstay Filing $398; Northwest $164; ZenBusiness $298 on the Starter package plus its agent; Bizee $149 on Basic with a free first agent year; LegalZoom $498 on Basic plus its agent. The low advertised numbers do not include annual report filing, which the Mainstay Filing price does.
