What is in a flat registered agent fee

A flat fee for the wrong service is not a bargain. These are the inclusions each page lists, and the limits worth knowing before you buy.

  • Mainstay Filing Service of process is scanned and uploaded the same business day at no fee. The first three government mailings a year are scanned free; after that a per-piece fee applies. The registered agent address is not a business mailing address and cannot stand in for one, for example for bank verification.
  • Northwest Registered Agent Its address on public filings; scans of state and legal mail; up to 5 pieces of other business mail scanned free a year; domain, website, email and phone line. Its page says the price has not gone up in 20 years. $100/yr per state for five or more states.

  • Harbor Compliance Documents delivered to a client portal; annual report reminders. $99 for the first year for new customers, then $159/yr. Prepaying two or three years keeps $99/yr for those years.

The address a registered agent gives is a legal address for government and court mail. It is not a mailing address for your business, and a bank may refuse it for verification.
